Class Chats Insights Project
August 2026 Project Kickoff
Class chats emerged as a common issue from youth data and youth voices in Basel, but no meaningful data can inform effective solution design.
We kicked off a crowdfunding campaign to fund a youth-led research project in collaboration with Dr. Eva Unternährer to explore what happens in class chats in Basel and their impact on student well-being.
STREAM Study
June 2025 - present
Student mental health is an important issue at the University of Basel. To explore the impact of digital experiences on student mental health, the student association, skuba, decided to survey the student body.
skuba designed and implemented a student survey, in collaboration with Middle Road and a research team from UPK Basel. The results of the STREAM survey (Student Technology Related Effects on Affect and Mental Health) provides skuba with insights and potential opportunities to support student mental health.
Fall 2024 - present
Eight youth worked with a theater coach to create and rehearse an interactive theater performance "for youth, by youth" for primary and secondary schools in Basel-Land and Basel-Stadt.
